Are you ready to discover one of the most practical Bluetooth earphones on the market?
The compact Syllable S8 promises to be an excellent option to relax during the rush of everyday life. Really?
Meet now Syllable’s newest slim bet:
Syllable S8: design, construction and battery
The first point that catches your eye on the S8 is certainly its stylish charging base which has a super slim design.
This base is very easy to transport and has a great matte finish that ensures durability to the product.
In addition, it also features a USB Type-C input for faster and more efficient charging.
The Syllable S8 features equally compact earphones that feature a semi-in-ear construction.
This type of design appeals to many people, but tends to offer less powerful bass.
Fortunately, even though it’s an extremely small earphone, the S8 carries a good battery life and offers 5 hours of continuous music playback.
And as a bonus, the ipx5 protection ensures the earphones come out unscathed during heavy rains.
Syllable S8: how to pair with smartphone?
Syllable S8 has automatic simultaneous connection. So, just remove the earphones from the charging base and they are already available in the Bluetooth list.
Oh, and if you want or need it, you can just use one of them!
Syllable S8: functions
Despite being super compact, the S8 brings many functions that we look for in a Bluetooth earphone. However, unfortunately it doesn’t have a Gamer mode.
Default functions:
– 1 right tap: + volume
– 1 left tap: – volume
– 2 taps: pause/unpause
– press right 1.5s: skip music
– press left 1.5s: back music
During a call:
– 2 taps: answer/end
– press 1.5 seconds: ignore
Syllable S8: fixation
And the Syllable S8 started by surprising us during our fixation test!
Even though it doesn’t have a very ear canal construction, it did very well and didn’t fall out of the ears during the most abrupt movements.
So, the S8 has shown to have a great fixation, which can help in the sound quality.
Syllable S8: audio test, microphone test and delay test
In our sound quality test the Syllable S8 delivered very well defined tones, however none of them stand out.
It’s a more Flat sound quality, where we hear bass, mids and trebles in tune.
And in addition to having balanced tones, the S8 also brings a somewhat low volume level.
So this more neutral sound may attract a lot of fans, but it probably won’t appeal to those who like loud music.
In the delay test, the S8 showed a delay of about 0.5 seconds when running FPS games on an entry-level smartphone.
This isn’t such a subtle delay, but it’s understandable. After all, the earphone comes with a 5.0 Bluetooth chipset.
So there’s probably no delay on an advanced intermediate or high-end smartphone.
Look, and this delay is not noticed in videos, right?
Finally, we did our long-awaited microphone test and we can say that the Syllable S8 has a good microphone for home use.
It has a reasonable volume level and has little interference but some noise.
Anyway, this is a good microphone for calls and games, but not perfect for video conferencing.
Syllable S8: is it worth it?
This is a good earphone for those who like mobility!
The Syllable S8 seems to have a Flat proposition both in its design and in its musical quality.
It delivers a well-balanced sound quality that will please anyone who likes quieter music.
Plus, these earphones feature a surprisingly large battery for their size.
The S8 can also be your gaming partner, but only if you have an advanced smartphone.
And finally, although it’s not perfect, it has a very audible microphone.
