Syllable S115 Plus: design, construction and battery
It’s true that, at first glance, the Syllable S115 Plus is not very impressive.
Syllable’s new Bluetooth earphone features a very “clean” design that can be welcomed by anyone who likes a more discreet appearance.
Although simple, it has a caharging base that has a great matte finish, which is less prone to scratches and fingerprints on the surface.
As a bonus, the base still features 5 LEDs battery notification and has a USB Type-C input for faster and more efficient charging.
The S115 Plus earphone was built to provide comfort to the user.
It features a “bean” design that faces the ear canal, which creates a more comfortable earpiece for extended wear and also helps gain bass.
In addition, it also carries a matte finish, so it will have greater durability.
And this is where you will be impressed with the Syllable S115 Plus!
This great little earphone achieves no less than 12 hours of continuous music playback!
To close with a flourish, it has advanced protection against water by ipx6.
This protection ensures that you can even take a shower with your earphones on!
Syllable S115 Plus: fixation
Despite having a protruding body, the Syllable S115 Plus surprised us to have remained fixed during the fixation test.
However, unfortunately it wasn’t as comfortable as it should have been, but it varies from person to person.
Syllable S115 Plus: how to pair with smartphone?
The S115 Plus brings the ease of simultaneous connection, so you can remove the earphones from the base separately, or even just use one at a time.
To pair, simply open the charging base and remove the two earphones. Thus, they connect to each other and are already available in the Bluetooth list.
Syllable S115 Plus: Functions
Syllable likes to ship full-featured earphones, so the S115 Plus brings all the functions we’re looking for in a earphone, including volume up and down.
– 1 tap: pause/unpause
– 2 taps left: – volume
– 2 taps right: + volume
– press 2s right: skip music
– press 2s left: rewind music
During a call:
– 1 ring: answer/hang up
– press 2 seconds: ignore
Syllable S115 Plus: Audio Test, Microphone Test and Delay Test
Here’s another surprise from S115 Plus: it supports Codec aptX!
Therefore, if your smartphone supports this technology, you will experience a musical quality very similar to that of the studio.
In our audio quality test, the S115 Plus delivered a great stereo effect!
It brings a very high volume level, even louder than the S101 Plus, and doesn’t blow any of the tones.
Speaking of tones, both mids and bass and treble are present. The bass is more prominent and is quite powerful, so this sound quality will appeal to all audiences.
And we put the S115 Plus’ advanced Bluetooth chipset 5.2 to the test!
In the delay test, the Syllable S115 Plus exhibited a slight delay of about 0.2 seconds when tested on an entry-level smartphone.
This may not seem like good news, but remember that this is not a Gamer earphone and that the smartphone in the test has very simple hardware.
So, as it had a delay of less than half a second, this earphone did very well.
When tested on an advanced mid-range smartphone, it didn’t show any delays!
Finally, we did the long-awaited microphone test, and that’s when the S115 Plus left something to be desired…
It delivered audio with a good volume level, but unfortunately the microphone was a little muffled and still had some good noises.
Therefore, it is an audible microphone for games and calls, but it is not advisable for video conferencing.
Syllable S115 Plus: is it worth it?
It depends on your taste and what you are looking for!
The S115 Plus features a simple design, but one that will be welcomed by more discreet people.
For music lovers, this earphone carries a great 12 hours of playback time and still delivers a great stereo effect.
In addition, it has an advanced protection against water that guarantees showers.
Finally, despite not having a perfect microphone, this earphone has an advanced Bluetooth that guarantees an extremely subtle delay on entry-level smartphones.
In summary, if you like a “clean” design, looking for a earphone to listen to music or to play games on an intermediate smartphone, this is a great option!
