The new sports bet from Soundpeats has a very large construction, which is normal for models in the category, but at the same time, it manages to be a very discreet earphone.
The Soundpeats S5 has a relatively large body and a huge charging base that are designed to ensure safety for high-impact athletes.
Reading this way it looks like this is yet another weird and scandalous sports earphone, but Soundpeats have invested in an elegant design that brings an excellent matte finish.
This finish is responsible for the beauty of the earphones and also guarantees less scratches and marks.
In addition, Soundpeats S5 has an ear canal-facing construction, which can mean good bass gain, and is capable of achieving 5 hours of continuous playback.
What’s more, it features modern ipx7 protection for water resistance.
This means that these earphones can be submerged in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.
And as you’d expect, Soundpeats S5 needs a charging base as big as it is, doesn’t it?
Despite not being very practical to carry, this base has a great matte finish and still brings the ease of charging via USB type-C.

Soundpeats S5: audio test, microphone test and delay test
And since a sports earphone isn’t just about fixing, we tested the sound quality of the Soundpeats S5!
During our test, the first thing we noticed was that it doesn’t reach very high volume.
Even so, Soundpeats S5 delivers a stereo effect with very well-defined tones.
But, probably because of the volume level, it doesn’t deliver very powerful bass. In fact, here all the tones are quite balanced and none outshine the other.
In summary: This earphone delivers great sound quality for those who like calmer music, but for those who like to feel the beat, it might not be the best option.
And now it’s time to check if the promise of a good Gamer partner has really been fulfilled!
In our delay test, Soundpeats S5 delivered a great result for a earphone that wasn’t designed for gamers.
After all it had a super subtle delay of about 0.2s when running a FPS game on an entry-level smartphone.
And, as you may already know, this type of smartphone has very simple hardware, so we think this was a really great result.
So, if you have an intermediate or more advanced smartphone, you certainly won’t have any kind of sound delay in games or videos.
And to close with a flourish, we did our long-awaited microphone test!
And just like in the sound quality test, Soundpeats S5 had relatively low audio, but very clean.
Despite not having a very loud microphone, it delivers very clean audio with no muffling or interference.
So, unless you’re in a place with a lot of noise, this is a really great mic.

The Soundpeats S5 features a super low-key and durable design that does the job of not falling out of your ears during high performance sports.
