Edifier’s new bet promises advanced audio quality, whether in songs or on the microphone. Really?
Learn the truth in our full review:
Edifier X6: design, construction and battery
The Edifier X6 brings a charging base that draws attention for its beauty and differentiated shape.
It has a flat, oval base that features an elegant glossy white finish.
However, despite being very charming, this finish is more prone to marks and scratches. Therefore, the earphone may not have such good durability.
In addition, it has an LED that informs the battery status and even has a USB Type-C input for faster and more efficient charging.
The Edifier X6’s earphones also feature this beautiful finish and feature a head without rubber.
Unfortunately, it does not have an ear canal construction, which can compromise fixation and low tones.
And because it has a very compact body, the Edifier X6 achieves a autonomy of 5 hours of continuous music playback.
This may seem like a small battery, but it’s about average and it’s a good capacity considering the size of the earphones.
As a bonus, it also carries the Ip54 protection against splashing water and sweat. So, the earphones are protected in case of a drizzle.
Edifier X6: how to pair with smartphone?
To pair the Edifier X6, simply remove the two earphones from the charging base.
Thus, they connect to each other and are available in the Bluetooth list.
Edifier X6: functions
The Edifier X6 is simple, so it only has the basic functions of a Bluetooth earphone.
2 taps: pause/unpause
3 taps: virtual assistant
2 taps: answer/end
Edifier X6: Fix Test
In the end, we were surprised by the Edifier X6 during the fix test!
Despite fears that it’s not a secure earphone, as it doesn’t have any rubbers or an in-ear construction, it remained firmly fixed during the most abrupt movements.
Also, the Edifier X6 seems to be very comfortable for long-term use.
Edifier X6: Audio Test, Delay Test and Microphone Test
And it’s time to find out if Edifier delivers on its promises!
First of all, it’s important to say that Edifier X6 supports Codec aptX. So, if your smartphone is compatible, the songs will be closer to studio quality.
Speaking of music, the sound quality of this earphone can be loved by some and hated by others.
The Edifier X6 has an extremely high volume level and has well defined tones. However, unlike most earphones, here the treble tones are the most prominent.
Some people really like this kind of quality, but it’s not for everyone. After all, the sound can be shrill and even uncomfortable if turned up to full volume.
In the delay test, we put the Edifier X6’s Bluetooth 5.0 chipset to the test, but the result wasn’t exactly what we’d like.
Unfortunately, it had a significant delay when we tested it on an entry-level smartphone.
Remember that this type of smartphone has very simple hardware and, therefore, the result can be quite different on a more advanced smartphone.
So, if you have an intermediate or high-end smartphone, you won’t have any delays.
Finally, we did a microphone test and were very pleased with the sound delivered.
The Edifier X6 has a simple microphone that has some noise, but it is very audible and delivers a great volume level.
Therefore, it is a good microphone for games, calls and video lessons.
Edifier X6: is it worth it?
It depends on your musical taste!
The Edifier X6 is a very beautiful, light and compact earphone that has a good autonomy and a great volume level.
This earphone can really please your ears, as long as you’re a fan of higher tones.
And if you have an advanced smartphone, it can also be your gaming partner.
Finally, it has a microphone good enough for any purpose, which was a pleasant surprise!
