BW-GH1 is the first gaming headset from Blitzwolf, a rising Chinese brand, known mainly for its high cost-benefit proposition.
I recently received a sample and tried to do a complete review for you, which include tests of sound quality and microphone. Check it out and find out if the BW-GH1 is worth it!
Blitzwolf BW-GH1: design and construction
The BW-GH1 headset is very reliable. The construction is robust and of good quality. The finish, however, does not imitate metal as well as I would like.
That said, we have good quality polyurethane earphones. The headset itself is pliable and does not put too much pressure on the head. I found it very comfortable, although it seemed too big.
A robust metal structure joins the 2 earphones that have RGB light. Below it, we have a polyurethane strap that fulfills the function very well: adapt the headset to any size of head.
The microphone is not detachable, but it is malleable, although not as much as I would like. I fought a little with that, but it worked. However, the finish is good and there is RGB light at the tip of the microphone.
Finally, we have a very robust cabling, which is unlikely to present breakage problems. The connection is USB.
Blitzwolf BW-GH1: hardware, sound test and microphone test
The BW-GH1 has 50mm drivers, 7.1 surround effect produced via software, and has universal connectivity. In other words, it works on both the PC and the consoles, or so the brand says.
That said, I performed sound testing and microphone testing on my PS4 and Xbox One, in addition to listening to music on the PC. First of all, although the brand says the headset is universal, it didn’t work on Xbox One directly.
On PS4, the sound test revealed a phone with balanced tones and an immersive effect, where the steps and shots of the characters are perfectly noticeable.
In the microphone test, I had a good surprise. Although the microphone is not that loud, it has almost no noise or echo. That is, there is no metallic effect.
Is it worth buying the Blitzwolf BW-GH1?
Finally, I can say that the Blitzwolf BW-GH1 really offers a great cost benefit. We do have some improvements to be made in the next generation.
However, considering the amount charged for this headset, it is rather a great option for those looking for a good and cheap gamer headset and especially with good microphone quality.
