The Galaxy M21S: Review

The Galaxy M21S: Review

After weeks of testing to evaluate and deliver to you even the smallest details, I bring you the full review of the Galaxy M21S!

Know now all the positives and negatives of this intermediate smartphone and if it is worth its cost-benefit.

Galaxy M21S: design and construction

Featuring a very simple, but beautiful design, the Galaxy M21S comes with a classic gradient finish from blue tones to black tones. This whole set brings elegance to the smartphone.

The Galaxy M21S can be considered a lightweight smartphone, with only 191g, which is a conquest for a device that has a 6000mAh battery. Certainly this weight was achieved because its frame and rear were made of plastic, which makes the device lighter.

This choice of Samsung was very assertive, since we used smartphones for many hours and a heavy device can end up bothering us.

With a non-hybrid SIM card slot, this device allows the simultaneous use of two cards to expand the memory.

For charging, the Galaxy M21S has a Type-C output, bringing faster charging. Samsung also thought of those who use conventional headphones, adding a 3.5mm output.

On the front, the Galaxy M21S has a selfie camera in a drop-type design.
At the rear, a 3-camera module is positioned on the left at the top of the device.

A strong point of the device is that there is a physical button on the back that performs the biometric unlock. In the test, the button proved to be reasonably responsive, unlocking the device in a satisfactory time.

Galaxy M21S: screen

The Galaxy M21S has a super amoled screen with 6.4 inches, which in my opinion is the ideal size. Although it has some edges, which reduces its use to 84.1%, it is a good size screen.

With a resolution of 2340 × 1080 pixel and a capacity of 420 nits, Samsung delivers a screen with quality and good brightness, but that if exposed to intense sunlight can generate some difficulty for the user.

The highlight of the super amoled screen is the very deep tones, emphasizing the black color, which generates an experience far superior to the user. In summary, the images have good saturation, sharpness and contrast.

Therefore, for a smartphone in this price, the Galaxy M21S carries a quite satisfactory screen with One Ui 2.0 interface.

Galaxy M21S: hardware and software

Using the Exynos 9611 intermediate processor, the Galaxy M21S has 10 nanometers and Mali-G72 GPU. Testing the GPU in games, I concluded that there are slight delays, but nothing that hinders the performance.

On storage, Galaxy M21S supports 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.

After analysis and testing, we can see that it is a very basic intermediate smartphone, but it delivers a good result. Compared to the Galaxy A51 this model seems to be more fluid, without crashes.

Galaxy M21S: cameras

Comprising 3 rear cameras, the Galaxy M21S features a 64mp main camera with f / 1.8, 26mm. Its f / 1.8 aperture brings plenty of light to your photos even in the most nighttime environment.

Other cameras:
– Ultra-wide angle: 8MP, f / 2.2, 12mm
– Depth: 5MP, f / 2.2
– Selfie: 2MP, f / 2.0, 26mm

In terms of videos, the Galaxy M21S carries the curse of the other Galaxys, having the image distorted if it is too close. To compensate, it features unmuted audio and very reasonable volume and clarity.

Galaxy M21S: battery

During the test of moderate use and medium brightness, the device surprised me reaching an autonomy of 48hrs!
With continuous use and medium brightness, its delivery was a considerable 15hrs.

These numbers are interesting for smartphones in the category!

Galaxy M21S: is it worth it?

As we can see, the Galaxy M21S has a beautiful and classic design, with lightness and a very acceptable speed. If you don’t mind the plastic finish, this smartphone might appeal to you.

Comparing with his brothers that bring the same hardware, the Galaxy M21S also presents some slowdowns, but with much more fluidity.

Because it is a low-cost smartphone, the Galaxy M21S has some limitations. However, considering its cost-benefit, it is quite worth investing in this smartphone!
